me again
my dad said somethin about my problem. he said that if tthe wires and conections in the back get wet they will short or somethin and the car wont run. well i just found out that one of my quarter panels are leaking during rain, and the back padding is soaked. could this cause my problem?

Those wires are the connections to the fuel pump. Yes, if they get shorted, the car won't run. If they do short, the fuse will blow, and your car would not run again until you fixed it. Also they are almost centered under the rear deck carpet, not so much to the side that you are experiencing a leak in. Get the leak fixed!!! Rust sucks!!!

i was gunna change hoods. my hood flew up and is bent outta shape. i was gunna put a hood on from another z. same year but not turbo. do i need to get that scoop put in or is it just supposed to be a thing they put on turbos in 85 just for the look. thx

it has functionality, but you don't have to have it.
i left it off my AE when I put a new hood on it.

It has some small effect but necessity no. When I bought my 85t it came with a damaged hood. The scoop was stolen soon after. I had plans to replace the hood so I experimented with louvers. I think they worked better at dissipating heat but when I replaced the hood I didn't use them. You can find scoops on ebay and in the classified ads here and at the other z31 sites.
