lights

i have a 1984 300zx and my lights arent working what do i need to check.

Which lights? Fog lights, low beams, high beams, parking lights?
Check your fuses, check your light switch.

first stop: fuse box.
second stop: headlight switch

If you get parking lights, and your fuses check ok, it will be the headlamp switch. I have seen a couple on E-bay for sale.

all of my fuses are good and my head lights are good also

my switch makes my lights come up but the actuall lights dont come on

Are you talking about the button above your hazard lights?
If so, no. The headlamp switch is on the left hand side, it controls your parking lights, lows, and high beams. You have to remove the steering column to get it out.

that is what i am talkin about not that swtich above the hazard lights im talking about the swticht that controls your blinker too
can u send me some info on it

Buy a Haynes manual and look at the wiring diagram, there is one for 1984 models in great detail.
Study the book.
Best 15 bucks you could spend on your car.

info on the switch?

turn **** for lights
push forward for high beams
pull backward to flash highs
push down for left turn signal
push up for right turn signal

and in order to remove it, you need to pull the steering column cover and steering wheel off.
