The cable to open the gas flap in my 87 stopped working. I found the connection in the back where the cables hinge. The plastic piece on the cable broke. I tried using a wire to hold the pieces together. It worked for a while then lost tension.
Because of the positions of the two pieces, I do not think gluing will work or hold. I am open to suggestions.

I did mine with JB weld over a year ago. be sure you allow sufficient cure time before testing it. still going strong. word to the wise for anyone who reads this. TREAD LIGHTLY when in the cargo deck if you are back there doing work
I tried using some super glue stuff. I went a bit too aggressive and not only did the gas not open neither did the hatch..YOu know what that's like when one thing works another not and then both don't
pulled em apart got the hatch back and put one drop to see if that will hold.
THX for the responses.
I did bring a tie wrap with me to see how I could rig it up..but, if this fails I'll try the wrap

Wow 51 Z's..hell of a lot of cars!! It would be very interesting to hear the stroies behind some of them. Shape\condition, pros & cons and what happened to them.
so, I rigged it up with one tie wrap I had and the wire I previously used. I have better understanding of what's going on back there so I can address it with another tie wrap if the wire comes loose.
Thx for the input, I do appreciate it. I like when things are all fixed..even though I let small things go for a while.
