when i start my car in the morning i hear a knock is what it sounds like, i went to check it out when it first started happening and every time it stops completely and doesnt do it the rest of the day. it knocks for about ten seconds, then completely stops. any thoughts of a problem? ive been checking the forums around and i have not come up with anything similar.

 

Is it a fast or slow knock?
Does it go away when you rev it?
Is it coming from the top or bottom of the engine?

it starts slow and gets fast then completely goes away. its coming from the top of the engine, it doesnt stop when i rev, then just automatically goes away

 

What's the temperature outside?
What weight oil is in it right now?
When was the last oil change?

If it's coming from the top, it could be a lifter.

Can you make a video of it?

 

right now since im in NY its about 20 when im starting the car to warm it up in the mornings before going. i use 10w-30 and the last oil change was about three weeks ago when i got the car

 

and i can try to get a video of it but since it only does it for such a short time its hard too
