I am doing a t5 swamp on my auto 85 zx turbo, do i really need both trans dust plates, wont the auto dustplates work? The trans im puttin in is out of a 84 or 85!

 

You're talking about the plate that butts up against the block, before you install the flywheel, right? Use the one for the transmission you will be installing. The auto might have slightly diff mounting holes on the bottom (I know the 280zx auto vs manual plates are different).

 

they are different. but it wouldnt be too hard to drill your own holes and plug the old ones.

 

thanks man, but i ordered them used! Man the hardest part of doin the 5speed swamp is finding all the correct parts!

 

Just an FYI... it's SWAP, not "swamp". That correct spelling will help if you ever want to find any info when searching.

 

Problem, i got one big dust plate, one trany mount, and engine to trans mount, by the starter, now do i need the other engine to trans mount, drivers side, and wasnt i supposed to get another dustplate? Cause when i took off my auto there was a small dust plate that just kinda fell outa there! and the big one!
