So I've got an 84 anniversary and I love it.. One day started acting funny like when I presse the gas it would just shut down.. Then It quit starting.. Replaced chts and nothing.. It has power at the coil wire but no spark from the spark plug wires. Tried to replace distributor and it's not the same one that comes in any 300 it's Nissan part number wasn't even in Nissans system when I called them. It comes from a Nissan Cedric witch appearantly was only made in Japan and also used a vg30.. They both had the same CAS though so I replaced that and still nothing idk what to do... All electronics still turn on (except the air witch I screwed up a while ago) an it cranks and it sounds like there is compression but there is no spark or even power at the the plugs... Any suggestions??? Please help I miss my baby!!

 

you say you have no spark at the plugs, but you have power TO the coil. is the coil itself actually working? by your symptoms, it sounds like your coil may have been on the way out (weak spark, rough running) and finally gave up the ghost.

 

Swap ECUs they are bad about just going out on you. If anything it only takes five minutes to pop it out and its only a few screws to remove to access the boards. I had an 85 do it yesterday and it had popped one little transister that is a $3 max at radio shack. A quick solder and Ill have it going again.

 

Is there a specific one that usually pops or just look for the Odd one out lol

 

Any 84/85 turbo ECU will be just fine.
