Caliper replacement

I was looking at the Haynes manual regarding caliper replacement.
When I looked at the caliper on my 87 Z31..I always thought the connection of the brake fluid cable was NOT simply a hex wrench , rather some sort of crimp connection..

AM I wrong? Is it a screw on? That would be great because I can handle that and swap it out myself!

Thx ..again Z31 87 stick

for a start "brake fluid cable" is an obnoxious oxymoron. Are you talking about the front calipers or the rear calipers. At least you managed to get in the year model. Haynes sucks get the nissan fsm from xenon free download and accurate something haynes doesn't always get right.

Back caliper..yeah I know Haynes ever has enough on the subject. Half of the book is about other year cars. Most of the stuff I do I know, I mean I will not even try to tackle the timing belt! or anything deep in the engine. But brakes and Caliper, this is in my arena.

It is a hex nut..so baby I am going to replace it on my own. Save a few hundred on that!
