86 GLL what wiring harness do I buy do have an aftermarket stereo installed

After owning two Z32's and a second generation Z31, I bought my first Z31 on Saturday. An 86 GLL package. Owned by an 80 year old man for the last 23 years, it has 155K but only moved 3K in the last 6 years. He had to put a new battery in it before I could drive it away and when I got in to test drive it, the radio had a steady "530" in the display. I pushed in the on button and went to change it to fm and set it and the display went out. He said the radio had not worked in some time. Bitching Betty is not coming on either. I really want to put in an aftermarket cd player with an mp3 plug. I went to Mobile One Stereo here in town and they can get the faceplate kit but not the harness. The car has an amplifier. My question is what harness to buy to assure they can hook up the amplifier. Both the counterman and installer were knowledgeable about the car. And how do I dodge Bitching Betty from coming back on.

Debbie

Sorry i don't have an answer to your question regarding what harness you need but if you are not going to be using the 86 GLL radio that is in the car i'd be interested in purchasing it from you.. working or not
Let me know
Thanks
Tyler

if you don't like bitchin betty pull the voice box. you need to splice the speaker lead to the radio lead around the box. get the fsm from xenon makes it all clear. if you got the schematic it is not rocket science to hook up the stereo for someone who understands schematics - of course mobile one minimum wage high school dropouts may not be able to accomplish that. No harness is needed just enough intelligence to read a schematic and attach the proper wires to the DIN plug for the radio you choose. I even taught my son's dropout friend how to do it. personal opinion keep bitchin betty. first time you leave the lights on and get a dead battery you might like to have someon telling you about your lights are on. If the idiots at mobile one say you need a harness tell them to pull head out of @ss and read the schematic.

Want to dodge bitching betty? Run new speaker wires for the entire car.
