What tires? Another of those questions...

I'm wanting to keep my 85 z at stock height and I like the original wheels and would like to keep those if I could. But I would like to fill up the wheel well a little more than the stock wheel/combo does. What size tire do you recommend for doing this or do I need to just look at other wheel options to get a "fuller" look for the wheels/tires?

On my 85T, I used 235/60 15 Eagle Gaterbacks on my stock 15" wheels. These were the tires that the old Mustangs GTs used to use. These tires where taller with taller sidewalls. The problem with wanting to fill up the wheel well with a taller tire you also change the circumference of the tire which would raise your Z higher off the ground and also affect your handling and gearing. The best way to fill up the wheel well is to lower the car and try to keep the circumference of the tire near the same. Pushing the tire up higher into the wheel well by lowering the car will do this.

I have certainly thought about lowering it. I'm just not ready to bite the bullet on the few coilovers available! Although lowering springs are on option as well.
