Question Short Stroke

Just out of curiousity does anyone know if there is a short stroke insert made so that we can shorten our strut casings and convert to actual coilovers any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks guys but #1 I don't really want to buy 240sx suspension and #2 the DIY just shows how to put it together, what I mean is, is there a strut insert ie: Koni Tokico any company like that where it is shorter than the stock strut insert itself so that we can shorten the strut casings upon installation by about 20mm to 40mm so that you really get that slammed look, I am used to dealing with 80's toyotas and doing this but have not found the insert and just wondering if anyone had a part # or link to it thanks.

No offense, but, who would want to slam a 300zx to the ground anyway?

That's just not right!!!!!!!!

OK well I guess noone here has heard of it but we do it all the time to AE86 AW11's Cressida's MX83 and MX73's I have even seen them do it to S12 200sx's but I will find out and get it done then I will post just in case anyone is intrested in it..............Now as far as why I would want to do that and "it's not right" honestly did I ask any opinions? Not being a a**, I'm just saying I asked a specific question, not what do you think. I am not some kid and I have done this before just not with Nissans I am not that familiar with part #'s and suppliers that is why I asked the question.......And as far as why I would want to do that it's what I like and motorsports wise it has never let me down...now maybe it isn't the best thing for the Z31 and that may very well be but let me find out and if it's bad I will be the first person to say "dude I did it and it sucked hard"

Plans are in the works for a US company to start producing coilovers for the Z31. They won't be ready for several months though.

It'd be pretty pointless if they only made them for the front, wouldn't it?

Who knows with the way you guys do everything on else on these cars it all seems half assed, now if you are done the reason I asked if it was for the rear as well is because there are coilover kits for the AE86 that are strictly front end and does not come with the rear, now does it seem like a stupid question?

Oh how I love it when a new guy shows up, asks lame questions without researching and then... Acts like a hard on to people offering help.

Nice.

As a matter of fact I did research and I personally found nothing on the matter besides what everyone had replied now as for as it being lame I don't personally see how it was a simple question and was not a stupid question by any means, this is the first forum I have ever had a problem with. I am not some E thug that goes around picking internet fights that would be retarded, I asked a simple question and got nothing but beef about it and as far as it goes I am not impressed by any of the write ups on the modifications that I have seen here. IMO they don't really seem to have been written that well but that again is just my opinion from write ups I have followed on other forums, and again please understand I am new to nissans I have not dealt that much with them and that is the reason I asked a question. But if it's lame to try and gather knowledge then I guess I am lame, again thank you for your time and good luck to everyone that is in the midst of a new project, I on the other hand have decided to sell and stick with Toyota seeing how I just purchased another AW11, I have time attack plans for this one so it should keep me pretty busy for awhile. I am sorry if I ruffled anyones feathers I promise that was not my intention so please accept my apology and again good luck everyone.

I'm guessing that the company that makes front coilovers for the AE86 also makes rear coilovers. If they don't, that'd be the first time I've ever heard of a company making one pair, but not the other.

In reference to half assing anything, the Z31 has very little aftermarket support. So anything that is done in terms of modifications are done on a budget and in someone's garage. So if you feel it's half assed, why not take a step back and try it yourself.

You asked a question and got nothing but beef?
You. Out of the gene pool. You're retarded. You got two different links to the only places for information on coilovers for the Z31. Sorry it doesn't meet your standards. You're right. Maybe the Z31 isn't for you. Maybe you're just too impatient and inept to be able to figure things out on your own. Go now. You won't be missed.

damn^^^, that fool got told..haha. Anyways, everyone knows that some cars have less of anaftermarket, then others. You just have to deal with it if its the car you want. Yeah and we aren't the ones picking fights, it just sounds like you. If you want a car thats been done to death and has a gang of an aftermarket scene, go honda, be a follower. I'm out.

Ya know, it's really funny when someone realizes they're stupid. They revert to 12 year old behavior and call people names and start cussing.

If you're unhappy with the results and atmosphere here, I might be able to make a suggestion.

Go on over to z31.com or HybridZ.com for any further advise. I'm sure the individuals over there will be more than willing to help you out!!!!!!!
