Help! (outer tie rod ends)

I was recently in a crash in my z and it broke the outer tie rod on the right front. After a few hours of trying, my buddy and i could not get it off. There is a "nut" or hold point right past the boot, threads and a big (18 or 19mm) locknut on the rod. Does the rod go from the ball joint inside the boot or does it thread of after? any help would be greatly appreciated...

hose everything off in PB blaster, then there is a surface cut into the center of the inner tie rod that you can stick a wrench on to keep it all from spinning. I would highly recommend making sure the frame is strait if it managed to break a tie rod though.

Nope, I used a crescent wrench. It's most likely either a 12 or 14 though.
