I have an 85 300zx na and the windshield wipers won't stop in the down position also the intermittent fuction is inop. I replaced the wiper combo switch on the steering column and no change. The hi and lo speeds still work like they are supposed to except when you shut them off they stop right where they are instead of going to the down position. When I turn the switch to intermittent with the engine off I can hear a clicking noise that repeats at the same rate that the wipers should operate intermittently. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to solve this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

the wipers on my 240 are the same way, I have to wait for the wipers to get near the bottom until I shut them off, otherwise they are stuck in the middle.

 

i think ive heard that the switch contacts become corroded over time, and start causing problems like that.
