heater not working

It is quite likely that the vacuum system is incorrect. Often people will run a vac line from the top of the water **** valve directly to an intake source to force their a/c to work. If you have automatic climate control then it could also be the electrical connector that sits on top of the water **** valve. Often one or both of the wires break and detach.

If you look at the vacuum servo near your right headlight, there should be one port on it with 2 wires going on either side of it. That port should have a vac line which goes to your water **** valve. The water **** valve is on the rh side of the rear of the plenum. It is silver in color and you'll see the heater hoses all around beneath it..
