zx dilema.....
i have had my 81 N/A on ebay 4 f***ing times now and it just ended again today, my problem is, if it doesnt sell this time around im wondering what im going to do with it, all it needs are new sensors and to have the AFM re-adjusted, but this is one of the least rust free zx's that hasnt been restored, but just need some opinions, should i keep and fix? or strip and part?

Same here, hoov, don 't part it out. Fix it up more, and then sell it, if you want to. And who knows, you might at the end want to keep it, and finish fixing it up. I ran through the same dilemna with my '81, after I wrecked his front end. I wanted to part him out, and scrap him. But I just couldn't do it, too much sentimental value. And also the fact that it is a slicktop which I found out are rarer after '79. And yes it is a 2-seater.
All aside, I am even planning on getting another Z. And '83 280zx, with digital dash. Pretty cheap too, and I was thinking on getting it running. And drive that one, so I can finish restoring my '82. Okay I think that is enough, just stating some points for you man. Good luck, and hopefully you make the right decision.

having alot more pictures than just a side view of the car helps to sell it too... I start to wonder what the other side/interior/etc look like just from one picture and I don't bid. My favorites have tons of pictures of everything. Just my 2 cents
(and you don't have to pay ebay to host your pictures, you can use HTML and another place with the picture on it to add tons of pictures for cheaper than ebay/free!)

I'd almost say it's worth just putting the extra money into to get it all running smoothly and well. Even if you don't sell it, you'd have a decent daily driver. Or a good project car for you. Maybe L28ET swap or something. At least at that point you'd have a really good car to use as a daily, to sell, or to restore/upgrade.

you also might want to polish it up a bit... maybe buff it out so it doesnt look so old....

its not sold yet, theres no way in hell im taking less the $700 for it, but ebay doesnt let you use HTML anymore, but theres a link to lots of pics in the description, i have looked at a turbo swap, but i cant seem to find a turbo motor, i could buy all the parts and build one, but that would be a pain..

hoov, your problem is that you live in CA. There are so many running examples for sale in and around CA that a non running, non special (no offense, it's just not a limited production or anything) ZX is not going to sell easily. You can pick up running examples for really cheap. I picked up my rust free 81 in great running condition for about $650...but the interior was stipped and the paint wasn't too great (which is why it was so cheap).
Get it running first and then add atleast what it costs you to fix it to what you're wanting for it now and I guarantee you wont have nearly as tough a time selling it. Your asking price can be a lot higher when someone can come pick it up and drive it home. transporting a car can get pricey.
It's a lot easier to sell a non running ZX in obscure areas cause the cars are hard to come by in any condition. Unfortunately, Palm Dessert just isnt obscure enough A few months back I saw a plain jane 280zx 2+2 go for over $2k in South Dakota and it didn't even run Because chances are it's one of only a handful of those cars in that entire region.

alright, guess i might be keeping it after all, the guy paid me, got my cash, now his shipping company canceld the pickup and never even knew who the guy who made the order, so now he has 5 days to get the car out of my driveway before he loses all interest and his money.

ok, well....looks like im keeping the car......after a mis-communication about how well the car runs, the people who where comming to pick it up turned around at the bottom of the street and left, so after i called the buyer he was all pissed and butt hurt, so i got $500 richer (already spent) and im just gonna fix it and drive it, just like i originaly planned, so looks like i get to have some fun......
