Talking YES YES YES!!!!! and some questions...

You are looking at the text of a very happy person....why you ask? Well let me tell you. What would you all say if I told you that for $400 I AM getting an L28E, A 1979 5-speed, 1979 rear end, coupe driveshaft....Ok Ok, I am getting a fully functioning and mechanically sound 1979 280zx Coupe with 5-speed....for $400. The guy called me tonight and said he tried to call the other guy who was interested in the car but could not get ahold of him, so he called me and said he would accept the offer that I made him.

Questions:

1. The head, N47...is this head ok to put on the F54 Block? Performance good/bad? I have busted exhaust bolts on my P79.
2. What parts can I swap to my 82? My steering is leaking on my 82, is this a part that I should think about swapping? Pro/Cons?
3. Did the 1979 have anything that would be desirable on the 82?

I want my 82 to be my main car and this 79 a parts car...any and all suggestions would be great. I should have this car in a few weeks or less..................but what if the 1979 runs better.......hmmmmmmmmmm.

Well Now You Have 2 Slick Tops So Thats A Good Thing. The N47

Will Work Fine On The F54 Block.

Is The 79 A Gl Model? If So It Will Have An Auto Window Switch On The Drivers Side Thats Really Usefull.

The Chrome B-piller Mouldings On The 79 Are Better Than The Plastic Ones.

The Gearing On The 79 May Be Better Depending What It Has In It.

By The Way What Color Is It?

if you have auto temp control in your 82, swap out the manual control from the 79. check the diff gear ratio, maybe swap it. skittles ideas are good too. the n47 will raise comp ratio, therfore more power!!! it flows pretty good. ive had both. a n47 and p79 and both were ported, and the p79 was a little better, but it took lots of machine work to raise the comp ratio. the only problem is the sensor on the pass side of the p79 head, the n47 doesnt have it. that may be a problem.

All I can remember is that it is a Brown 79 N/A Slicky Coupe with a 5 speed and louvers...tan interior but I didn't look real good at it as I was talking to the guy most of the time I was next to the car and the biggest thing in my head was the tranny...at the time. He did say the air still works and it has $300 in new tires on it...*** is saggin like a 280zx though

I need to wait and see if it is going to be a parts car first or a driver. I looked inside the car yesterday when I went over to talk to him, he wasn't there and I made sure the shifter said 5 gears on it and I looked at the door panels and they look new. The seats have aftermarket seat covers on them and I don't recall seeing any cracks in the dash....hey man, you are in Tampa and we have not met yet!..What's up with that?

I talked again with Bill...the guy that is selling me the car, I think he is new or something. I called him and left a message last night and said I will come by today and pick up the car and pay the whole $400. He seems to think and he said he was told this by a lawyer that I pay him, he signs the title and before I get the keys to the car I need to go get the title in my name I have never done that with any of the cars I have bought and I know it's not done like that. I told him once he receives the money and signs the title as the seller then we are done and it is not his car nor his responsibility.

He said he will call the Tag office and find out for sure. I said ok, if you have doubts then by all means call the tag office and they will tell you the same thing and put your mind at ease, then we can finish this.

Thanks guys. You know how when you get something for a specific reason and then you use it and it seems better than your old one....dude, the air is Ice Cold and it shifts real good even with a need for a new shifter bushing...and the *** goin down like George Michales in a public restroom.

Most people are amazed at the fact that my 83' ZXT's air still works and blows ice cold. I think it still has R-12 in it.

NICE FIND Thxone!!! And the car doesnt appear to have a lot of rust on it! And WORKING A/C TO BOOT! Nothing better than a parts car. And I like the chrome bumpers, if they arent rusted.! Sorry, BUT, the trailer hitch has to go, unless you plan to use it to pull home another car you raced for pink slips!

If you decide against the louvers, remove them and sit them on your car to see if your wiper will work with them.
If it WILL, I want dibs on the louvers.
My son lives in Sarasota and comes to the Tampa area periodically. I will have him pick them up for me.
PM me with any info on the louvers.
