Looks like his car sold on ebay.... he prolly doesn't have the internet hooked up at his new place yet. He'll be back.

Man it's a bummer that j sold his car and for not even $500. It's kinda sad after all that work, but I know he had his reasons. I don't believe we've heard the last of j as far as the 280ZX goes. Maybe he'll just end up with an even better ZX one of these days, but hopefully we'll hear from the guy soon...

i'm back. I've been moved in for a few days now but they couldn't get out to hook the cable/internet up til today. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a ZX here in the near future and I'll definitely be around here now that I'm back online. I'm having trouble finding a ZX thats even remotely in my vicinity though I did spot a clean 280Z (s30) here in town today though. It was sitting at a body shop. Judging by how clean it is though I'm guessing its not there to be worked on. I'm going to go down to the shop tomorrow and talk to them and see if they're willing to let it go. It's not a ZX but it's something to get me by in the meantime. Thats if I can even get them to sell it to me. Z's are a rarity in these parts. Last time I lived out here I never saw a single Z other than a couple Z31's and a solitary Z32. And that was over a couple of years.

the devil made me do it

And I dont know if $435 qualifies as selling a perfectly running turbo specimen More like I gave it away for a small contribution towards my time

something that made me chuckle today though...when I did finally log back in today there were over 2000 posts since I last logged in. And most of them were in this forum gotta love the 280zx forum. If there is one reason why I dont want to get that 280Z its because I might have to hang out in that 'Other' forum

clearly you've never met the woman

No she's not the devil...but she is the one that eventually convinced me it was probably best to sell it and move on to another one. Of course I am now seriously regretting that decision

I've on to the shakes... but the nightmares are still frequent. Thats when I can actually get myself to fall asleep through the constant thoughts of time past when I was with my love (sheds single tear). I'd shed more tears but that car already sucked them all out of me For the time being I've finally opened up the 280ZX model I purchased on ebay several months ago and got started on that. It's not much but atleast its some semblance of what I've lost

And of course I've still got you guys

Yeah welcome back J, you were greatly missed by all. And glad to hear the move turned out allright. Be patient man, another ZX will come along. And as for the 280z, I would love to have one. Just so I have the best of both worlds. Still someday I want to get an S30, but not until I clear up my plate of projects. But anyway keep your head up, and in the end you will find a better Z than you had. Well hopefully, anyway.

Welcome back J! We could always use your input even though you don't have a Z.
Where did you move to?
And you'll be back in one before you know it, cause once you've had one, you're hooked!!!

Don't sweat giving stuff away because it comes back to you in many ways.

If that's true, I should be getting at least 2 complete 280zx turbo engine/tranny combos, a bunch of P90, P90a, and one P90 head, a 300zx turbo slicktop 2 seater, a few 240 and 260s and more than a few complete turbo conversions worth of parts.

Well the guy that bought the car had some things come up so as it stands my Z is back on the market. I'm going to relist her on ebay...but I'm going to get the title first and maybe even register her too. That way whoever gets her this time is getting a street legal Z. Plus I figure I can sell her for a lot more that way. I was far from satisfied with the previous selling price. Titling and registration here in SD is very cheap so it wont even cost me that much.

I'm thinking about keeping her but I wanna look into a possible '79 first. At this point I'd rather have a hardtop then a turbo. I can always swap another turbo motor in (or swap something else in). But getting a hardtop Z up to SD would be a little more difficult.
