How about

a 13b TT. For those that aren't familiar, that's from the Mazda RX-7 (3G).

I want to go VG30DETT myself, but I like the idea of a more difficult swap, and something that hasn't been done a hundred times.

to bad its a sequential setup so its complete gabage singe turbo or bust. also, if you ever show the motor seom power maybe 25% of the time you use it expect a rebuild on the apex seals every 50k about. and the more power it makes the shorter the life span of those seals. however, i still love them. they just arent practical though. NA 20b however will make good power sound BA and be a little more reliable.

(50k rebuilds)alot of people have been saying this just cause the saw how a rotary works on youtube(i was one)but i spent about a month on a rx7 forum and many of the cars never have had their apex seals replaced, even the 1st gens, and were running fine(i was looking at getting a 79 1st gen and it ran fine and had never been rebuilt, i know because it was my friends car) but exreme boost will kill the seals but the seals are more reliable than they seem

sorry snw...

i PERSONALLY know someone witha modified RX-7 FD3S with the 13b rotary. it was rebuilt at least 3 times in his ownership. i didnt say this from rumor, i said it from experience helping with the last change of them before he sold it.

i thought the 4 cylinder L series engines would just bolt up as well incase he wanted some mad storage space in his engine compartment.

if your going for a car with extreme amounts of boost its gonna need sealchanges like a racecar but a daily driver on low boost wont need em every 50k, screw high boost in rotors, thats what street ports are for

Oh and in my opinion...and being around RX-7's. The rotory engine is not practical. And also has overheating problems. I have driven a first generation '85 RX-7. And have ridden in a second generation '86 & '87 RX-7's. Besides all that they are a pain to change the plugs..lol Oh and just some food for thought. It has Ford under the hoods of those things. Another reason I am not a big fan of those cars. They still do look sweet though. But I am not interested in another nice looking lawn ornament..lol I already have enough of those in my yard already..lmao Besides that...one ornament...that would destroy my pocketbook..lol

Oh....and as for putting a 4 banger or an American V8 into a Z. I call it either..downgrading or bastardizing. But we have been that route before. I mean no offense to anybody..including you lifeguarddude in regards to you with the SR20..

Perhaps he was referring to the PS13 Silvia I drove back home in Japan? j/k I think he got confused on the RB20 I said I was building up to eventually use on my Z once this L-motor took a dump. Either way, I'm not offended! The SR is a great motor too.
