V8

Hey peeps
do you guys know if I have an 1980 280zx if I have to change my rear end if I put a cheve v8 in? I have a friend down the street who has three of them himself and he has done it but I didn't think to ask him if he change his.

you dont have to change the rear end. the gears are perfect for the standard 350. if you install a high performance v8 you probably will want to go with a ford 9 inch rear end. this is a bulletproof rear end.

Depending on what options your 1980 ZX has, you might have a 3.54 or 3.7 rear gear. You will want a 3.54 rear. Get a manual transmission for the V8.
