tires

im looking for a set of new tires and i found one that looks good.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0

i read the reviews on these and the sound good, i was wondering if anyone has used these or the brand and if you liked them.

also what size of a tire can i go for with the stock 14 inch rim , i have 205/70r14 on their now.

Are you looking for all season tires or racing tires? Racing / performance tires don't do well in the cold / snow. I have 15" Sumitomos on my 280zxt... but it only comes out on warm dry days.

not racing tires i dont go to the track, yet. but a performance tire, i live in Southern cal so i dont need to worry about snow,

and how big of a difference would a 225/60r14 make from what i have now 205/70r14

not much of a difference

i reccomended the hankooks because you live in ca
and you drive a z so i assume you want a sporty tire.
seriously the honkooks i suggested has great grip
me and my buddy did like 80 around a corner posted at 15mph no problem

yeah that would be about a 1in shorter tire and at 65mph on your odo you would actually be going 60

i didnt realize you had 14in tires
unfourtunatly there are little to no options at all for small wheels like that
if i were you i would upgrade to either 15 or 17in wheels
16in wheels are kinda hard to buy for too

honestly how hard do you push your tires? if you drive like grandma then of course there great tires but the 512 get pushed to their limits very easily.
i have personal experience with these tires not holding and being total crap.

for some the 512 may be great, but for me no. for anyone wanting to hold a hard fast tight corner no.

i guess im just profiling then because i look at it from scorpions point of view, hes driving an aparently stock NA 2+2 zx, thats not a car your exactly going to push to the limit because it honestly can't reach the limit, i drive at least 110 most weekday mornings, live on a dirt road, and sucumb to peer pressure and occasinaly spin my tires, trust me THESE TIRES ARE OK especially for $42 and if they go bad there is a 60000 mile warranty that i hear they do abide by in most cases... you must have recived a bad batch of rubber or something

btw i drive a stock NA 2+2 zx surprise!!!

again read some of the reviews, some are from people driving high performance vehicles

i may not drive my car to its breaking point, because i dont feel like crashing it, and my tires i have on there now have no tread. but once i get my tech job and some money i'll build my engine and start going to the track some.
