Tibby faster than 81BlackL28E?? STORY..:) Now with pics of MY CAR

Im the kid that blew his head gasket in the turbo ae86 just to clarify.

I have been wondering threw these forums in research with garrett turbos found on 300zx and 280zx... anyways

The night my headgasket blew me and Black went to get his girls Tibby(Hyundai Tiburon).... So we get it and I drive the front wheel drive beast. We get on a straight rode and I hear from behind, Black's automatic kickdown...wa WAAAAAAAAAAA and hes off....
He are going about 40mph and I hit 2nd gear (Tibby is manual)... he pulls to the side of me and I rev to 6200 and NAIL 3rd, faster than i shift my car (well maybe not, but it was fast) and start pulling away. He get to about 80 mph and I see Black in the rear view.. ROLL HIS eyes and pull back behind me.. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Black got TAKEN......... I think its time for a manual or maybe the RB with Z31 rear end.. you know 1 tire fire aint fun.....

get some.... get sideways

5-speed and a 3.9 rear will make it a whole different story.
Start from a dead stop...

A 5-speed NA 280ZX could beat a V6 Tibby. The white Tibby is only a 4cyl! Its that automatic that does it for the ZX. But yes, a turbo Z could beat a lot more cars. There's a big difference between the power of an NA and even a stock Turbo Z.

Even a little 1.6L Toyota engine is pretty fast with a turbo.

I agree that with a 5spd the 280's or mostly any car for that matter are faster.

The one thing i really think its all about is the POWER to WEIGHT ratio... Sure my turbo 1.6L DOHC 4AG only dynoed 166 whp and 143 ft LB of torque at 7psi...but my car weighs a whomping 2100 lbs... But hey you can only imagine what it was like at 13psi.. anyways....

I think when black gets that 5 spd in he will own the little tibby.. But for now i will take.... And from a stop it will be even worse, god autos suck!

i agree whole heartedly.. it is about power:weight ratios.. a 150 hp 4 banger can make a 1500 lb car move much quicker than say a 360hp v8 5000 lb escalade. (God those escalades are like tanks..)

and you also hafta understand grey.. you have TURBO.. he doesnt.. Turbos will make any lil engine into a powerhouse.. i guarantee ya if he was turbo. he could prolly own you and tibby along with 80% of the cars on the road..and thats with an auto.. dont think autos are all that bad.. yes a 5-spd is better.. but autos are nice in their own way.. the only problem with auto is turbo lag. but i guarantee you i take 5spds all the time with a lil 3 spd.. and no i dont just stick it in drive then floor it.. youre gonna hafta go from 1-2-drive.. in drive the auto shifts at 4000.. when i am going in each gear i push that turbo up to 5500 and i haul some ***.. id say im pulling 13-14 s quarters with my lil 3spd and i can only imagine what i would pull with a 5spd.. yes 5spds are quicker cuz they have that tall *** 1st gear at ~3.5 or so but its not like autos are THAT shitty

Any pics of your turbo hachiroku? I like those cars, reminds me of back in the days when one of my buddies dropped the 170hp supercharged motor from the ae92 into his ae86. Made for one quick car, especially when he swapped the pulley out. The only thing I couldn't stand was the dentist polishing tool noise above 5K.

Deep-dish Work Equips, perhaps?

Nice AE86 bro, real clean example of what can be done with patience, commitment, and a little automotive know-how.

And as always, BIG FAN OF THE DRIFT.

Thanks for the comments guys...

As for wheels..... 6's are a little too skinny!
14x7 with 0 offset please..

I would buy some sicko wheels but they get up there in price very quickly. SSR Reverse Mesh are like 700 A PAIR

Alright. Can you even fit 7 inch zero offset?

These are the wheels I bought recently. Still trying to get the money together for tires...
16x9; 16x10
