What?! When were you in Utah?

And it looks good... That's the same MSA-II kit I have.

I see four different shades. Looks good. Are you going to paint the car soon?

Not soon. Got some savin up to do. I am going to start sanding it pretty soon. I'm gonna shave the rear wiper, side trim, side lights, and the antenna too. It's coming along though

And the car is actually 3 different shades. The hood looks darker just from lighting

looks good. you shouldn't start sanding it, then keep driving it, before you are ready to paint. all the oils and crap that get in there will make the paint not stick. yes, you should use a degreaser before painting anyway, but it doesn't get the bug juice off the hood.

^^^ ha... no kidding. My Z has been primer gray for 6-7 years now. I'll be "wax & grease removing" for days.

Yeah i got some rust spots that need taken car of too so that's my primary focus for now. The passenger door has a hole in the bottom and the driver side has some surface rust along with some other parts of the car. The part that concerns me most is around the top and bottom of the windshield. I'm not much of a body guy so i don't know how exactly to take care of that.

Looks good. Perhaps some side shots, and a rear?

nismo, you probably know this already, but just incase, if i were you i would be considering that primer to have been a temporary protectant, that needs to come completely off before it gets painted. you probably know already, i'm just saying it because i don't think degreasing for days will help. i've got pretty sweaty hands, so when i was sanding the second coat of primer off my car, i leaned on the fender for a minute with my hand. well when it came up there was a permanent grease spot there, that degreaser wouldn't get out. i had to take the spot down pretty far to get back to clean primer. (no my hands aren't freakish. it was hot, and primer is poris)

Yes, degreaser does not work worth a crap on primer. If it's rattle can primer, I would not put a mixed automotive paint on top of the primer either. They don't like to mix well, and will flake off down the road. This is what I hear from my body shop friends.

It's Dupont Uro-primer... not rattle canned. You don't use "degreaser" to get grease / dirt off primer or paint. You use Wax and Grease Remover. It's a chemical solvent. 3M's stuff rocks, as well as Dupont's "First Klean".

But yes... most of my primer will have to come off from wet sanding and fixing dings / dents.

the wax and grease remover is beastly but still, i would do alot of sanding of it first that stuff is so porus you'll never get it all. not like its hard to primer a car anyways.

i love the giant DATSUN logo

was the kit hard to fit?

I'm not familiar with body kits, but I heard depending upon manufacturer some may or may not fit right and require a lot of work

You like that huh? Well, represent lol. The kit wasn't very hard to fit at all. The only one I had to modify was the front bumper. Both the metal support and the fiberglass one itself. Everything else mounted up easily. I need to fix my sideskirts though. It's popping out right in front of the door.
