I think you are talking about the WHOOOSH noise? That's from a BOV (blow off valve) and you can't have that noise, unless you have a turbocharger.

Ah. Cool. Sounds like a better deal than than the first.

Yes, you can get that sound with a 280zx turbo. Just install a BOV. More importantly, you should probably understand what a BOV does.

new to turbos? or new to cars? here i thought you were more mechanically inclined talking motor swaps and all... now (and dont take this as bashing or to condescending) i think you should stick with a stock turbo car and add as you learn. remember, you should always understand how something works and what it does before you plan to install it.

Well if you decide to stay with an N/A, stroke it. I heard that a stroked L28 sounds nice. I might do it one day. Ya know after school.

stroking the L28 engine is a lot of machine work and a lot of money. Its not a good idea.

hahaha big news guys
is there anyone in atlanta?
I found the 83 280zx turbo down there but I live 4+ hours away I was wondering if they could text drive it for me

but anyways this car for 2000 has no front carpet, has rebuilt motor+turbo 14k miles on them, 240k original miles,
the dash is now dim you can only see it at night, runs great he says
it shutters when you first start it up

tell me what you think

lol lol i angered the little dude. going by strictly what you said dude, your basic words point to, drive it and try to break something, if it doesnt then its good! yeah thats pretty aweful advice. also not sure i know mike on here has a buddy in atlanta with a zx he is also a member so maybe he will volunteer but other wise might have to do some phone haggling and take a long long drive to see it.
