Wow, I didnt even notice you are in Oklahoma Wake. Go register on www.nismokc.com, maybe you can make it to our mext meet. We should have a guy with an r33 at the next meet it'll be cool to finally see it in person.

Back onto lights... There are maybe a couple cases in which I think a custom light looks better than factory. It all depends on the way it is done. I do agree that seeing the came thing over and over can get a little old, props for being a non-conformist!

Got any better pics of your lights Wake?

I dunno about that... Apollo & Heat Rave did their "school bus" round tail light conversion several years ago. Since then about a dozen (probably more) have also done it.

Oh yea . . . . ..i totaly agree. Tail lights should remain 110% stock. They look awesome. No reason to change at all. Just crazy to think anyone would want to change them

Reverse lights and license plate?

Check these out. Used to install them on Jeeps. Called LiteDots.

I was looking for something bigger. I think that is what makes the round lights on our bumpers a school bus. They should be larger.

http://www.4x4xplor.com/ORO-LiteDOTs.html

Wish they made something like this, but larger, and minus the lights for the plate.

Although I am not a huge fan of changing the taillights on a Z. Except for me putting the earlier 280zx lights on mine. Your Z looks tight with those round taillights man. I swear it looks almost like an older '60's
Ferrari. I believe it was the GT250 or something like that?

Thanks Ben.

See, they are larger, and fill the void better. I like it. Does not look like a school bus to me. Almost looks factory.
Wonder what R33 would look like? Haha

i started this thread to find out everyones opinion on the lights and to inform those who dont know that its pretty easy (for basic mechanics not apartment ppl)

But, I know what you mean. It's not easy to find places to work on my car. Looking at renting a garage.

I did not like the look of the 83 lights and wanted a more updated look. I smoked them, they turned out pretty good. There is a full thread on the... "other forum".

theres not a good set of aftermarket or home made lights that i have seen all fit and finished real well for the zx.

i have seen some real nice adaptations on the 240's -280z's

I've only had my '83 zx for 2 weeks now, and I'm already thinking about changing them. Don't really like any of the options so far though. I'm a "stocker", I guess, I don't really go for body kits or mods, but yeah... the lights are the only part of the car that screams 1983 to me. Well, that and the steering wheel. And the METAL button on the tape deck.
