Hehe, I thought my thread title might pique your guys' curiosity. You all may remember the Generation 1 Autobot, Smokescreen, who transformed into the 280ZX race car, right? Well, the latest incarnation of him is a Bugatti Veyron, complete with spring-deployed shoulder/roof quad-rocket launchers! Talk about a worthy descendent, eh?

Nah I still like the original Smokescreen better. Old School rules, but I will give Hasbro effort on trying to bring back a sweet character. Nothing beats the originals, the ones I grew up with and love to this day.

smokescreen has actually taken a couple different forms since he was a ZX. But that Bugatti is the first since the original to use that paint theme. Here's one recent version:

You talking about the one in my sig? I got it from a website, but here are a couple of pics of my real collection. Yeah I know they are a little cluttered. One of my projects, amongst many this winter.

Ha Ha, yeah right, lol. Anyway that is a hobby that pretty much stopped after I started working on my Z over a year ago. I have built that collection of Transformers since '98. And that doesn't include what is in the 6 drawer dresser they are sitting upon. I have one big drawer full of parts to transformers. Anyway just bored, worked on my Z today, and still is running rich. I want my damn timing light.

I feel ya WildmaN, my wife put up with my Hotwheels obsession for quite some time. We used to have to take a trip to the toy section in any store that had one just so I could sort through the cars. She kept a listing of what cars I had from the current series with her in her purse so she could keep track of what I already had. I hundereds and hundereds of those things. Around the time I finally got my Z I slowly stopped collecting them. And then about a year and a half ago I gave up 99% of my collection keeping only the valuable ones like the Treasure Hunt series. Well a few months ago my son managed to get ahold of one of my T.H.'s and got it opened. I was a little angry at first til it finally hit me: These things are not worth enough money or sentiment, nor will they ever be worth enough, to take that smile off his face. My son now has more Treasure Hunt hotwheels in his toybox then most kids have of just plain old hotwheels (all hotwheels collectors now proceed to tear into me for allowing such a thing to happen )

When it was all said and done I realized that it really was kind of a strange obsession to have. And at atleast a dollar a piece and close to a thousand of them, I spent a small fortune that could've gone toward something I could actually enjoy (like a big screen).

Haha, I've got several hundred Hot Wheels myself, collected over the years. I open up virtually all mine though, and even have a bunch all over my desk at work. ^^ I try to limit myself to only getting Hot Wheels that are cars I actually like, or that are too interesting to pass up (there's a hot tub-themed car that recently came out).

Oh, speaking of Hot Wheels, they just released a Datsun 240Z this year. It's white, with headlight covers, body kit, and race markings. Very well done.

^ I just got one last night at Kmart. We were making our way back to the front of the store to check out and they had one of those spinning-rack displays with hotwheels and there were several of the 240Z's just sitting right there out front. So I snatched one. One of the better looking super-small scale Z replicas I've seen.

this is the extent of my collection. but hey, i have the 2 best Zs, so i'm good .

that ZG is part of Konami's "The Best" collection. found them in a convienience store in japan. the boxes are sealed, so you dont know what you are getting. bought 3 and got lucky with a z. the other two i got were a subaru 360 deluxe and a savannah rx-7.

edit: interesting note, out of the 12 cars in "The Best" series, there are 4 nissans .
