The Z died on me 3 days ago, I started it up and the rpm would go to about 1000, then decrease until it died. I could get it to start, I just had to rev the motor for a few seconds, then it would be fine. most of the time it works perfectly!


what gives?

The basic answers:

Check timing, TPS, fuel pressure, AFM, CHTS, all sensor connections....

 

i'd check vacuum to.

 

My NA 1981 280zx is having the same problem as you kingdatsun, did you find a solution?

I just pulled my AFM and it's perfect inside, no grime. I've already replaced the vacuum tubes.

Time to check everything else I suppose...
