shady280's air dam

Hi - I don't even know if shady posts here anymore - I tried searching for this but didn't see anything. Shady, what's the air dam on your silver car made of? The one that was in your profile picture with the canadian zed cold air comment. It just looks like a big sheet of thick black rubber, but I like it.

Posting instead of PMing in case any of his buddies know.

Thanks!! I don't know why I remembered it as black. Mine is lowered about 2", and I have 4 speed breakers to go over to get out of my neighborhood, so if I build something it'll probably have more of an angle or setback to it. Thanks for the extra pics.

yeah at 5" it clears speed bumps and parking lot obstructions, i had it down at 4" but it hit everything, but looked really nice. having the car lowered 2" is gonna make the front of the airdam look smaller, but still pretty cool. on my racecar its gonna be removable so i can get it on the trailer.

Well, here's my take on it. Couldn't source any aluminum big enough, so I went with...<cough> gutter covers</cough>. Still think it looks pretty cool, especially with the bumper surgery...

may want to put a hole in the airdam, it needs that low air to help cool the engine. i noticed you left the hole below the hood above the bumper open, it helps, but may need a bit more stuck in traffic.
