remanufactured l28et

I'm going to go check out a 280zx tomorrow that has 200,000 miles on it. It's the l28e but I'm just wanting to plan on doing an l28et swap in the future if i buy it when that motor craps out.

Are there any reliable sites that sell low miles or rebuilt l28et's? I found one but I'm not sure how reliable they are. http://remanufactured.com/Nissan_Engines.htm

And then I also checked out asap motors but I've heard bad reviews on them. So is it possible to be found? Or should I start looking into either an RB swap or a 350?

Don't go for the cheap reman engines...the companies tend to cut as many corners as possible to sell them for the cheapest prices..especially stay away from them if you're gonna do a performance build...the best thing is find a cheap used one and take it to a machine shop.

^^^ Indeed... and $1700+ for a reman isn't cheap... That $1700 would get you a lot better deal on doing your own rebuild.

buying remaned engines is always a terrible idea, you get stock engine for double the mark up it would cost you to just pull the motor and drop it at the machine shop and have them do the work and you can have that even by doing all the disassembly and reassembly yourself

Wow thanks for the help guys! I suppose I'll just keep my eye out for any ol' l28et and when the right one comes my way maybe I'll even rebuild it (not including machining where needed).

Just wanted to say that I used to be a part of the honda crowd and I can already tell you guys are not only exponentially more mature but helpful too.

You should see how many people come to Checker and say "hey I need such and such for my honda! And is there a performance version?" OH and add a heavy mexican ascent... and or no english speaking skills

Around here we have a serious problem with Honda "tuners" who have no idea what they're runnin' underneath their hood.

Just the other day I heard one asking his friends why his b18 doesn't say VTEC on the valve cover.

But there are some amazing hondas here too, a few that are turboed but those rarely come out to play.

I have seen a few real tuned hondas but their so far and few between. Ive actually seen that yahoo questions this

"Hi I have a 80something honda civic and Im wondering how I should go about painting my pistons, I want to match my red interior and Add a little compression how should I do this?"

Not in those exact works but kinda close, probably more stupid sounding than I feel like typing it
