This is my original engine no rebuild, and old oil after flushing with Seafoam. Again, like the ATF, I wouldn't run it long.

I'd say give it a shot, you never know. I'd pull the lifters though, rebuild them and then soak them in oil before they went back in the car.
it's also what to use on a z32 for the power steering. power steering fluid kills the pump! go figure.

Z31 also uses ATF for the power steering and that's probably why mine leaks as someone had used regular power steering fluid as far as I can tell.

This is what adjustable rockers look like, instead of the hydraulic ones.
It that bar running across the cam towers is an oil spray tube. It has little holes on the side facing the cam that would squirt oil on each lobe of the cam. Old school.
That is an E88 head.
The cam that was put in the car when I got it was aftermarket, and drilled for oil. So the spray head was not needed. I removed it, and plugged the oles in the cam towers that feed it to maintain better oil pressure in my engine. The tube itself was broken and causing too much pressure to be lost.

I have an older 260Z, and they were a bit different.

if your gonna do the T/F in the motor.. I would go with with reg. motor oil for one more oil change.. to make sure you get all the T/ F out before you go with the expensive syn/ oil.....food for thought

actually that's a good thought. I didn't really think of that.

Well on the topic of the hydraulic lifters I started reading at HybridZ some more and I came across a big argument saying that the P90 with the solid lifters makes more power than the P90a and what not. It got me wondering, Nismopick if you check this, didn't you switch to a solid P90? If so did you notice more power, but at the same time maybe it's negligible. Since there were issues with your motor to begin with? Or are you still breaking it in?
