alright i am gettin ready to wire up a radio and all i reammy need is a constant 12v for the clock and memory presets and a ACC ON 12v for well turning the radio on when i turn the key.

i dont want what i had before where the presets would not stay and the radio could turn on all the time. previous owner was stupid to go to circuit city

 

Not really what you're looking for but I tapped the cigarette lighter illumination wire so the radio would turn on when I turned the gauge cluster lights on. I like it a hell of a lot better than having to have the key in and turned.

Just an idea.

 

You can use the Blue wire with the red stripe for a constant, I forget what I used for the accessory, I think I may have used the cigarette lighter. As that seems to do the trick, my cd player won't come on with the car off, but if I turn the key to the first position the CD player and clock will come on.

 

thats what i want, i'll give that a whirl.

i may just update the harness to a modern plug so when i change headunits i can get adapters. probally late 80's mid 90's nissan radio harness since my pioneer i am going to stick in it is already wired up for that
