Productive in the SHOP YIHAW ( pics)

Well the engine is in the 2+2 is now a Turbo, the intermediates are on ( ralleyslicks)

and i trailfitted my IC in the project.. ( i needede to relocate the outlet/inlet on the IC)
Fitted the dieselintake and brainstormed how to use it and where to ad the injectors.
im looking into using my 67MM TB and placing the injectors 'hilborn' like in the camber facing the runner

The intake seems smaller than i thought!

Other angle

... Header plates came in so i can start fabbing to move the turbo on my project forward and down ( so i can have a virtual straight DP)
Also compared the Copper HG for the project with some brands
(it is custom, meaning someone fabbed it up for a race engine and was succesfull with it in 2 class victorys)

One intresting gadget

The Euro LD28 ( and maybe the US have too) use a Heat exhanger on the oilfilter adapter .. this could be really handy in a race set up i take..
I never saw it before ( but then agian i never really looked into diesel before, nor ecountered them)

In the next week i have some loose ends to connect and i have to mount a 3" DP ... ill keep you informed!

NOTHING BETTER THAN FIRST FIRE UP of a fresh dropped engine

See the muffler on the yellow car exits at the left while the body cutout is on the right. Same as mine was.

That LD28 intake setup looks a bit like that used on the RB30 engines, should work well.

Talking

Well that is what i thought it has an RB ring to it... though they are multi valves so have les torque in the lower region i would assume.

The injectors will be ig welded in facing the entrance of the runner ( so in the plenum facing in a ~45 degree angle 'upwards' ill show what i mean when i get around to it .. I also have to weld up a TB plate

This is bisically the idea, Good part is that they are a two piece desing, so you can open it up!

Well, I feel a bit lost here. Im not trying to sound like a smartass or anything but, what's the purpose of all this? A few assumptions, power? cost? location of you? availability of parts? etc.

Those LD manifolds have better bottom end torque then the shorter runners on our Z manifolds.

Ahh yes, but the Bandm LD manifold has the injectors on the outside. For a cleaner more compact look, with Frank's injectors on the inside they will fit and look better with the fuel rail sandwiched between the top part of the intake manifold and the valve cover.

Don't. This is from a diesel Maxima from about 1980 to 1983 which also used the L6 engine and is the 'source' of the 'stroker' cranks for the Z cars.

The longer runners will give you greater intake charge velocity and better low end torque. Very important for a low rpm, low horse power diesel motor and it just looks damn cool on a gas motor. When turbo charged will make for some pretty crazy torque...
