possible new sticky??

Ok for some one knows what they are talking about, aka not me. Can you please make a sticky on possible muffler options? I want to get one but really do not know where to start. I tried searching but no one really has a few options with pros and cons. As a newbie it would be benificial and less time consuming. Not that I don't love reading everthing I can. Thnx

There aren't any set rules about mufflers... It depends on what you want it to sound like. Do you want a loud ricey sound? Euro sound? Raspy? Quiet? etc....

Deep throted sound....muscle car....no V8.....LOL!!!

Ok, you will need a beefy cam, large tubed header, decent to high compression, and nothing less than 2 1/2 inch pipe. An old school edlebrock muffler or a LONG cherry bomb muffler may get you close, or maybe a purple horny (Holley) may get you near that sound. I would not run the pipe all the way to the rear of the car, maybe half to 3/4's of the way and use a turn down tip which will help it resonate off the ground. Just remember, those old muscle cars had 8 BIG pistons and large head ports and vacuum secondaries on the carbs which sound evil and hollow on a high rise intake. But you should know the L28 is not going to sound exactly like them. So big pipe, header, LONG cherry bomb and a turn down and it should sound tough.

Bigger pipe deeper tone, to a point before performance suffers on the bottom end

Watch out for those MSA headers. If you have dropped springs I suggest getting the collector cut and shortened cuz you will be scraping over everything.
