out of curiosity, how much did all that weigh? I want to dynamat my Z but am having trouble making a decision because of the weight issue. But if it's not all that heavy then I'd prefer a sound/heat insulated car

That is the trunk kit which is 20 sq ft. you'll need three for the whole car, and a door kit, all in all I would guess 10-15 lbs., all I really care about is the road noise, and I want to stay warm or cold!

old man soft? The older you get the harder you get But that aside, it's mostly for my wife. She's not into the whole "crude" aspect that was my 280zx, so on the 260 I think I'll take a few steps to make the Z a little more comfortable. Since power output isn't going to be a limiting factor, and the 260 is already pretty light, I figure I can add a few amenities to the package.

Only the heavy stuff actually insulates the sound good. Dynomat is heavy. Probably 10-15 pounds per package. So x3 is upwards of 45 pounds.

I have the tension rods pulled and boxed up. They're with me at work today so if you PayPal, then I can ship today.

I can still deal with 45-50 lbs. And I'll keep my A/C. The few horsepower I lose by having A/C isn't really going to make a difference soon. And it'll be a more modern, compact compressor so it's not nearly as power robbing as the stock compressor. Since there are NO tracks out here this is going to be a dedicated street car. No sense in being uncomfortable in a strictly street car.

Snw, the air pump doesnt have anything to do with Vacuum. It pumps air into the exhaust. You can toss it as long as you dont have to go through emissions. The 260 is exempt from smog in most states anyways though.

You lost me...the engine produces the vacuum. As far as why to run lines coming from the air pump: You dont have to. Since you dont have emissions testing (not even visual right?) you dont need the air pump or any of its plumbing. You'll want to either seal up the exhaust manifold or get an aftermarket header since the stock exhaust manifold has provisions for the air galleys for the air pump. I got my 260 with a nice exhaust leak since the air pump is MIA and nothing was plugged

no poly bushings on the tension rods? I bought some of those bushings for my car but have not put them in. Maybe I should hang onto a spare pair of tension rods

Has anyone installed the performance bushing set from Blackdragon automotive?

If so can you please post a picture?
