This is a pic form the under side of a 1980 280zx Non Turbo. Driver Side.
I think it is a frezzer plug. I have not seen them yet on Z's, but i do belive they have them, Is this it? Water Gushes out this as quick as you can fill the raditator.

its a tight fit in there, but if it is just a freeze plug that needs to be installed; removing your intake and exhaust manifold first is as bad as it gets. You can replace all of them on that side for under $5. Napa has the full engine expansion plug set for $5.99 I just bough them a few weeks ago. (but I had to wait 2 weeks to get it in so order now)

First Off, I miss the ZDriver at top of the page. This thing has a bolt and rubber thing, Like theramz said. this one looks to have been knocked sideway's. the bolt don't go strait in, but crocked. Oh, and off topic, I finaly got my oil changed today. the plug bolt is a 7/8. The stuff(it came out the oil hole, black like oil, but thinkin more like Black Gas, Smells Strong of gas) is Thin as water, But luckly, no water in it. It has been sitin in the car for 3 1/2 year's. That stuff shot out like a rocket.

Could've been that the oil had gone so long without being changed and lost it's viscosity that blowby was really bad and mixed in with the oil. That would give it that fuel odor. As far as how thin it was, well that just happens with age and contamination. Atleast oil drained out. It could've been worse, nothing could've come out
