One last time

I had a rather serious emergency that required me to make it from East Oakland to South SF real quick and i had to push the Z harder than i have ever pushed her before. Well she ran like a champ but and gave me all she had left but after i got off the freeway from my 8 minute journey she was smokin and not from the tail pipe but from the engine bay and undercarage. It smelled like oil, but i didnt see any leaks and she was missing like crazy. I was able to limp her home later that night and i after poping the hood for a sec i noticed oil was kinda everywhere. It looked like it even had come out of the oil fill cap even thoguh it was tight. Pressure maybe? I dunno . . .so im really bummed but proud of her at the same time. All in all she gave it one last good run and didnt let me down. **** i love that car.

Can anyone say time for a turbo?

Time for a turbo.

What emergency situation made you push your car so hard.

Im gunna say it probably wont be ready by MSA but who knows. Im going turbo and now its just a matter of grabbing everything. And to think i had a complete motor in my hands a month ago . . . .****. At least i have a Honda DD now! Yes yes . . i drive a ****ing honda. Its for the sake of the Z.

Does this mean your lug nuts have more torque than your Honduh?

hahahahahahah lww, had to rub it in. hey jake, it prolly just a clogged pcv building pressure in your crank case, put some new seals and keep driving bro, sounds simple, but it never is. maybe a new oil pump, 100 bucks and itll go for another 50,000

Well why would it be running like crap, missing and all, if it was just a clogged pcv? Is that possible? Regardless, im going turbo damnit!!

if crank case pressure is high, it acts as a large brake to the motor, wasting hp, plus if its up, oil will bypass the rings and make it run like crap. at least it will get you to msa, or until the turbo motor kinda falls in

So i poped open the cap today durring the begining of my teardown and looky what i found. The cap and rotor were burnt to ****. Crispy, literaly fell apart in my hands. Still ran like crap after i put on a spare set but dang . . .And the #1 plug was dripping with oil.

ah try changing the plugs and wires and cap, you may just have a valve seal gone on #1, its a easy fix too, at least you can drive it till the turbo parts ALL show up, no need keeping a good z down while it could be tearing up the streets

I don't recall ever seeing a cap and rotor that bad on a car that was still driving...

What kind of coil are you using?

Accel coil. Nothing Special. And some upgraded wires, but snap . . .the cap and rotor literaly crumble after being touched. But she ran, never over heated or struggled to idle. Just ran like ***** and smoked after getting off the freeway.
