Oil Sender Removal

I'm trying to replace my leaky oil sender with a new one, but the old one won't come off.

I tried using a 14mm spanner but that keeps slipping (tried 9/16 too), and then tried turning the whole thing anti-clickwise but that only turns the housing and makes no progress from removing it from the engine.

Any ideas?

Isn't there a 10mm head between the oil sender body and the block?

It depends on the year and style some are 14mm some are 10mm.
If you don't care about ruining it, use some Channel locks or a vice grip on the bolt part of it.

I couldn't use my vise grip on the bolt, because of the tight area. But with WD40, and a hammer I managed to lossen it up and take it off.
