king datsun should be re-named, the kid with the wing! umm the wing is kinda odd, but it is your car, if you and company think its cool, then leave it. im all for customization, but its gotta have a purpose. 260det put a wing like that on his, but it actaully produces downforce when he races around a track

But downforce isnt necessarily what you need. An ideal setup is close to zero lift, with a slight amount of downforce at the front and/or rear, according to what the vehicle will be used for. On a car that has been tested in a wind tunnel with a variety of front and rear soilers, vortex generators, trip strips, belly pans, etc., a spoiler may be beneficial. But on a car with stock everything, except a gt wing, I dont see the point.

Holy Jeebus!! The Ricism Guys!
Dude its Your car. Do what you want with it. I don't like it, but hey, i got the same response for mine when i proposed the idea of a jacked up rear-end. Generally the folks here on Z-driver Will dislike anything that detracts from the legacy that is Z-cars. (IE: V8 engines, rediculously stupid looking rear wings, additions of tons of custom body work resulting in your car not looking Z at all, Ricey body kits, etc...) Personally, i'd ditch the wing. It doesn't meld well with the lines of the car. Instead of becomeing a part of your car, it becomes a focal point that detracts from the overall appearance. Kinda like a Fever blister on a super model.

that sounds like a farewell post ^^^^

A) you guys were a little to hard on him saying its garbage and just some of the immature name calling

B) he did turn a once almost junk car into a near pristine ZX resto

C) its his car, and we can never stop him from doing it.

now my thoughts, a wing could look good, but that is a cheap wing. its aluminum thin with a double decker set up on top of it.... its non functional and even drifters dont use those bro.... just... why...... and unfortunatly there is no other Z comunity that will accept your car with THAT wing on it. i would recomend taking it out, filling the holes, and get something more tastefull.

this is what happens when i go to wisconsin for a few days?????

i agree with the general consensus on the wing. but, on functionallity of a wing on Z's, the 2nd gen 300's often cam with a factory spoiler on the back. is this functional? it really doesn't look to do much to me. maybe a little downforce, but not much. i'm just saying you can't very well use the functionality argument on the wing if the 300's came with a non-functional one stock without critisizing the 300 at the same time. in that case, you need to stick with the "it's ugly" argument. but maybe it is functional on the 300.

I can't afford a CF one right now.
(don't have a job during the school year cause of sports and the gym and that ) hahaha

I just bought something cheap to find out if the spoiler wouldn't take up my whole window. (only been driving for 3 months)

so as of now, its temporary.
hahah

until I can get some cash

the SPOILER on the z32 TT is in fact functional. it was added to provide downforce needed at high speeds. most cars that come with stock spoilers have them for a reason. that reason is not always downforce. you can increase MPG by altering airflow as well.

And a spoiler can reduce the amount of exhaust fumes that enter the cabin through the hatch area.

I think it's kind of comical that everybody here got so worked up over a wing. You don't see anybody whining about the flat front airdams that look like refrigerator boxes, or the ones that only put on the airdams that hangs down real low and flare out, and are obviously missing the side skirts and rear valances that were designed to complete the look. How about all the 280ZX's wit hthe front bumper removed, but still showing the factory indentations for the bumper in the fenders? I could understand people freaking out if he put that wing on something like a Hemi Cuda or a 57 Vette, but come on he started with a junked car that was worth probably $200 tops, it'll never really be a limited production or classic car worth any type of real monetary value. lol

i was wondering how much did you get the car for and was it about to be crushed at a yard?
