Not Starting: Electrical (help)
I was driving down the road the other day and my car started to smoke a little out of the right side of the dash and all the sudden the car stalled out and would not start again. I assume something electrical is the problem, but I looked at all the harnesses and everything seems to be intact with no signs of burning. Problem: The car will rotate but not fire up. The taillights, dash lights, and dome lights do not work. Does anyone have any idea as the what the solution to this problem might be? This is my daily driver so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

By right side of the dash do you mean in front of the passenger right side? if so check your fuse box and see if anything melted, it is behind the kick panel so smoke could rise and come out the top of the dash.

There is a ton of wiring under the dash, most of it wrapped and in the upper part of the dash, so a quick visual inspection will not likely show the problem. If you haven't pulled the dash then you cant be certain its not the wiring.
Check your fuse links if you havent already (not the same as fuses). If you lost several systems then thatcould be your problem. The links are located under the hood in a black box next to the battery.
