What the???? How did it break?

And if it broke, there's going to be a lot more carnage than just the oil pump shaft...

i have no clue how it broke i was running the car cause i put an electric fan on it and was setting the temp when the motor started making what i thought was a knocking noise but i looked inside and there was no oil pressure, so i felt the distributor and it felt like it was jumping so i pushed down on it the jumping/knocking stopped and i had oil pressure back i haven't torn it back apart to see if it just sheared the rod or what. thanks a lot for the link how do u order from that site though once agine thx

<-- Still confused...

You don't order from that website... it's just the Nissan parts diagrams. You buy from the same place you get all Z parts... Nissan, MSA, BDA, our classifieds, the junk yard, etc.

I suggest digging deeper into the motor before buying random parts.

No oil presure and you went an pushed down on the dizzy? Really? Wow. I don't know much about cars but I would have freaked and turned the engine off and prayed I didn't destroy the engine....

i didn't know that i didn't have any oil pressure at first i had a buddy that was starting the car for me i did turn it off right away lol but even though the gauge wasn't reading i was getting enough oil moving around that my lifters weren't even ticing lol so i figured id see where see where the noise was coming from because it wasn't coming from the block

If you are certain it's the shaft that's broke, you won't going to be driving or running the engine with no oil pressure so, you might as well pull the pump and see whats up? If it's good all your out is a couple gaskets, time and some frustration getting that shaft back in right, and you've eliminated that as the cause of your problem.
