need a little help

I first want to admit I am new here and may be asking questions that are answered in other threads that I haven't found yet so please just send the link if possible.

I have a 1983 Nissan 280zx, non turbo. I am looking to a lot of modifications to it.

1) I want to put 17" rims on them. Xxr seems good. What other brands can I look for? What is the max width I can go in the front and back? what is the offset (I keep seeing 0) I should be looking for?

2) suspension: I would like to have a nice lowered look. which struts and springs can I use, without cutting springs. I would like a nice flush drop.

3) engine swap: I know of three engines I see that people tend to refer too: skyline, 350z and the ls1/2 motor. Are those really the three best options?

Thank you for your help and patience with this.

good luck finding rims. At best you will need to use adapter plates. i don't know your budget but changing engine style unless you are an experienced metal fabricator gonna cost a bundle. small block chevy seems to be a popular option. none of them drop in without some extensive work.

Lower z31

Lowering a z31 and modding the suspension is more of a DYI prospect than all the other Z's, just not a lot of aftermarket kits for the z31, hard to find coil overs and suspension pieces. So your selection is limited compared to what you can get for the early Z's.
here is a link to some 17's

That website is awesome. I will rethink swapping the motor and just do upgrades and get a manual transmission
