Yep.

What I did the other day looks even better.

The one pictures was painted mid January, it was 24 degrees and started to rain before it dried and still came out ok.

Saturday I sprayed my other jeep and it came out so much better, obviously because of the conditions, ill get a picture of that up sometime soon maybe.

(if this needs to go into a different part of the forum go ahead and move it)

I built a box for the 2 6.5 inch Elemental Designs subs I bought around Christmas (2 chambers at .25 ft3 each). They are being powered by a HUGE (for some reason) Elemental Designs 2x200 watt amp.

I'm not digging the box as it sits, but I will see how it turns out when all is said and done. I have an idea to make it look as if it's part of the strut towers...

The test drive home with it blaring I was very pleased. Not overbearing bass, just enough to fill in the bottom end of the sound. I will miss the deep lows from the 10 I had though. I may have to build a ported box and see how that is.

Now to save money for some components to put in the doors.

i like the new way to do matte black, it uses a low gloss clear that still has some shine to it but not enough to reflect anything directly, makes a deep look. also FUNNY!!!! i use the OMNI PPG paint also. haha... maybe that our problem but im thinking its my clear coat choice or my clear coat mixing.... possibly the gun spray pressure as well... i just dont know! need... input.... from guy.... that sprayed his.... so clean.....

haha. really though mr. audiofreak i'm interested in what you have to say about my question. even nismopick i think would have a good hint since i think he used to work at a place that did bodywork.

Sorry, I was busy last night and now I'm at work where Websense thinks Photobucket is the Devil. My dad is the one that painted (I thought I posted that, I guess I didn't...). I will show him the pics and see what he thinks. He's done paint for years and years. The clear was a polyurethane and he has a heated garage so that probably helped a bit. The paint does have a bit of the orange peal effect, but it's slowing flattening out...

I hope snw doesn't dog me, but I do have a quick question about his paint. If your garage is heated why do you need to use paint products designed for 50 degree weather?

I heard that. I just was wondering if that might be the culprit of his finish "grade"

haha, cause its heated only to 50 normally, we turn it up to 60 for painting, i forgot about that part...

also its expensive to heat a garage dude! haha. and its heated through the floor, so its slow heating it up, so thats why we dont crank it.

Ah. I see. Maybe it would be worth heating it to 70 or so (if possible) and buying the regular materials. You may get that smooth shiny finish you are dreaming of.

Hopefully. Don't go to fast. It is easier to deal with a run hear and there than it is orange peel all over.

What you paintin?

My dad works for ppg, we get discounts

I love their stuff, I saw a matte black paint job on a 240sx for $50. lol (spray paint) it looked excellent. best thing about it is that I can easily fix scratches and stuff by painting over them. (i've been having a real issue with keying, and people denting my car.)

Audiofreak... is the Z all put back together? If so we need pics! I want to see how your MSA front bumper looks. Mine has been bumped & whacked so many times it doesn't sit right anymore, and the turn signal bases don't sit even. Someday I want to make them sit flush w/ the bumper surface.

I'm taking the Z into 6 States to have them look at the drive shaft (I think I have a bad u-joint). I hope they get it done quick! I'm leaving next Thursday for California... I have 3 or 4 pictures on my camera at home, they aren't good but I'll post them tonight if I remember.

Thanks Nismo and Snw...

Time to get a part time job So much to do, absolutly no money to do it. haha

Wheels are next on the list. I just can't decide on what to get, and finding wheels seems to be difficult if you don't get the ones MSA stocks.

I'm in real need of seats as well, taking a right handers quickly puts me into the door When I finally get new wheels with some nice sticky rubber for the summer I'll really be tossed around inside.
