my loss your gain.

I am deeply ashamed to admit that my zx has met it's end. the culprit? me and a very sturdy light post. hit it almost dead center. bent the bumper to a 90 degree angle crunched up the hood, killed the radiator and ac, and finally bent up the front part of the frame kinda nicely. don't have nearly enought time and money to try and get her goin again but I wish I did.

currently parting it out but will take an offer for the whole car heres my craiglist posting if your interested... sob sob.

i'll try to get some pics up but be patient. the first post explains the damage pretty well. imagine a 280zx without the hood or bumper and the frame pushed in pretty nicely but not mangled and you have my car. looks great from the back or the side and still runs fine but good luck trying to fit a new radiator in.

^^^ okay... going to imagine what your Z looks like wrecked... brb....

Anyway, I whacked a cement barrier in my 318ti last year... stripped it down, took it to a body shop & had them straighten the frame for $300. I brought it home and hung some new panels on it... wa-la!

300! how bad was the frame? and where did you take it? I couldn't get a shop to quote me anything less then 800 with me finding my own parts.

He actually quoted me $150 (2hrs @ $75/hr). When I picked up the car he said he "spent a lil more time on it to get it just right". The frame was pretty bad from the steering rack up to the bumper.

I just called around to a bunch of body shops and asked how much they charge per hr & how long it would take to throw it on the frame rack. Telling them you are a body-man and just don't have time to deal w/ the frame helps too.

Some places will let you rent a frame bender too. I am trying to locate one near you. But, you may not even have the space for it. It's is a pretty large device. haha

Good luck with your car.

In case I get a job and income fast, what are the spec on the shocks and springs? Drop?
Thanks.

Man that really bites, I know how I would feel if it were my Z.

If you're going the part out way, LMK if it's a 2+2. I am in desperate nee of the interior finishers for the door jamb behind the front seats. I could also use the cruise control module and the **** for the fan if it has manual climate control. If I weren't in Michigan I would buy the whole car.

Sorry for your lose though, I can't imagine what went through your head when you seen the damage.
