I need help. I cant figure out why my zxt wont run. Well why it wont run right. It was starting but idling really rough and tries to die. I disconected the j pipe because it sounded like it was starved for air. But this made it so it wouldnt start at all. I have fire in all of the cylinders. i have no idea what is wrong. I cant drive it anywhere to get it looked at. i have a guy that will come to the house but i would rather not call him if it is something relatively simple to fix. But i dont know what it is. please help.

 

Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak somewhere. Taking off the j-pipe will not make the car run since that will let a whole bunch of unmetered air enter the motor. Follow the vacuum lines and check them for cracks.

 

this sounds like what happend to my firends turbo l28.. the screw that held his distributer came lose and it went off a few degrees and then wouldnt idle right and would die if you didnt give it any gas... id check the timing...
