my 79 280zx

yeah so i picked it up a couple months back for $400










This is what i'm working on at the moment dropped the chain so had to take of the front cover and then found out my tensioner was ate up so YaY! for me lol

EDIT:AHAHAHAHAHA yea so i just looked up the vin on a car collectors site and found out its an 83 wow i feel so damn stupid
mods anyway i could change my name to 83monster rolflmao!

My bet is it's an '83... I think the digital gauge clusters only came in '83 in the NA models...

We have different years on that Z, it looks like. I see '82-'83 taillights, and bumpers. Of course the '83 digital dash. But it is a slick top. Which are more rare after '81. Also there isn't any trim anywhere on the doors, or rest of the body. It kind of looks like they put the bumpers on there. But if so, I can't figure out, why they put the digital dash from the '83 if it is a '79. Hmm...quite strange.

What does the tags say under the hood, and in the door jams? Also what does the title say? Anyway still got a good deal on it. Funny I paid $400 for my '82 slick top, a little over 2 years ago. And almost the same shape. lol All in all, good luck on your Z project.

Thanks but yea i got it from one of my friends and he said it was a 79 his dad owned it when he was ten died then sat for 6 years and the trim on the sides was there jus not when i bought it

Looking at the gauge cluster just say that it is not 79...sorry late answer!
