Make Me A Wiring Harness
So I have an 83 280zx that I've been messing with off and on for a couple years now. I have too much money in this car too get rid of it. A while back the battery was hooked up backwards (I know very noobish thing to do but no turning back now) Since then I have checked the ECU which to my surprise is not fried, replaced the fusible links that looked bad and still have had no luck with getting the thing to start. I can hear the fuel pump when attempting to start but that's it. The car has always had electrical issues so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me insight on duplicating the complete wiring harness for the car. I mean it seems pretty straight forward but this would be a first for me. Thanks for the help. if someone has a compatible harness for sale for a reasonable price I will most certainly entertain the idea. Thanks

what part wont start?? the starter or does the engine turn over. pull your plug leads, turn over for a bit, if the plugs are wet, your getting fuel. if dry, no fuel. if your not getting fuel, try pulling off the fuel hose and get a pressure guage, it should have about 36-38 psi. if it doesnt, hot wire the fuel pump to a spare battery, then try and start it. you wont need a new harness most likely, just components at the other end. if you are getting fuel, its spark or compression.

Duplicating the harness is a bit of an issue as the ECU plugs are unavailable as far as I know. It's possible that the plugs could be re pinned but I haven't been able to track anything down (if anyone has a source for these let us know). The EV1 plugs for the injectors are available as are the bullet and spade connectors. I haven't seen a replacement plug for the AFM plug. The fuel pump relay connectors can be replaced as well with a specific male spade connector. Removing the stock connectors from the relay socket can be a challenge...
That being said its unlikely that you blew up the harness by hooking the battery up backwards.
