Rods utter distaste for bastardizing aside , I'd say it's a pretty good deal if it's a complete motor AND it's still in decent shape. And if he's got a tranny to go with it thats double the goodness.

You also want the wiring harness & ECU. Without these to go with it, you'll be in a world of hurt.

Rod's not the only one LOL. I have a distaste for bastardizating just about any car for that matter. But mainly if Z's are tainted with.

if it makes the car better in the eyes of the owner then I say there's no harm in it I'm going all Nissan on my 260. But when I finally get another 280zx I'll probably do a little cross-breeding with her. Bigger car needs a bigger motor

all nissan on your 260... you know... you can keep it a 260 (2.6 litter inline 6) with an RB26... you taechnically wouldnt be lieing about anything its still a 260... just with turbos fuel injection DOHC and a whole lot more potential... but meh... you dont have to tell people that... just taht.. its a 260 z a 2.6 litter inline 6...

^ Thought about that. But I really dont want to dump that much money into this project. Maybe that much overall, but not just on the engine. I'm gonna stick with the L26/SU combination for this one. I might go with an F54 block though, if I can find one close enough to me that I can go pick it up Or if I find someone willing to ship a short block.

I still prefer the 280zx over the S30's so I'm going to wait til I get my hands on another one of those before I go all crazy with engine swaps or anything.

that guys been on HybridZ for a little while. He's talked plenty about that car on there. As long as he's not selling it because he blew the motor up then I'd say you're getting you'd definitey get your money's worth.

Part of his descriptions says "screwed cam". I'm not sure if he means the cam is damaged...but if thats the only problem with the car then go for it. Check it out first of course. You can get a new cam and all the misc. parts to go with it for around $500.
