Lifters

Are the lifters in the 82 NA hydraulic? I have a ticking coming from what sounds like a lifter on the #1 cylinder and I need to know if I can just adjust the lifter or if I need to replace it. Thanks.

you might just need a valve adjusment. the hydrolic head was the p90a that was mostly used on the 83 turbo..

From what I remember, only the 1983 turbo head is hydralic. It is marked as P90a. The 1981-82 turbo has a P90 with rocker arms.
If anything, only 1983 has hydralics so you should have a head with rockers.

Usually they can be adjusted to quiet the noise. You can get Japan spec rockers from http://www.importedcarparts.com for really cheap. Usually about $11-13 each. These are good rockers, not the junk made by Crane Cams or others made in Taiwan.

New Prob

Well it is a rocker head, but my new question is what size wrench do i use to adjust the lifters? I have a full set of metric and sae wrenches and none of them fit right. I'm at a loss, is there some sort of special tool that i need or something?

I've never had a problem. i think the lock nut on the bottom is 17mm and the adjusting nut is 14mm.
