Let's Play a Game. "Wheres Waldo"

I jacked another thread. and needed to make my own.

Issue: No charge
What it's doing/done: started out when i held the window switch up an extra secound after the window was up. the volt meter jumped to 18+. Next day i started geting power surges when i turn somthing on or off. also with the pressing of the break pedal. then it started jumping to 18+ volts just ideling. so i had to keep the headlights and fog lights on to keet the power in the 14 volt range. Next day car died right as i pakred it at home. battery was dead. Alt still producing 18+ volts. I've replaced with new alt. Stable at 12 volts. but no charge. swaped out wiht another alt i had laying around. stable, but still no charge. I hunted down wires. and found badly corroided wires. fixed these. no charge. Fuses are also good. ran a wire directly to bat from batt post on alt. no charge. The lil red charge light is also on. stays on unless i pull the two prong plug from the alt. but still no charge.

Where is this check relay? I am rewireing the entire charging system. and i need to run the new blue wire to it.

Sorry, the "subject" of your photo is too out of focus. I assume that's a badly corroded connection. Unfortunately, all too common on our cars...

it is. corroded and fired. that the the alt to batt wire.

She's Fixed. 14.8 volts at battery. that relay failed to give power to that blue wire. result alt never got signal to start producing power. Lil red light goes off after car is started. i get full charge. and i am back to normal. Now for the drive shaft. only two barrings left at the rear end side. ahh Z's

It charged for a very short time. no more 14 volts. just 12 from the batt. the engine boggs down as if the alt is pumpin out juice. i ran jumper cables from alt to batt. still nothing. it seems like it does charge when engine is cold though. no lil red charge malfunction light once the engine is started.
