The latest mod: dash cam!

As the title says, I just mounted a dash cam. Hehe, as you can see, it looks like a shift light at first glance. But it's positioned perfectly to be able to swivel to shoot the side, and even the driver. I was going to get some footage this last weekend on a drive with my Z club, but I got up a half hour too late to make it (I was up till 5am perfectly planning out the music to play >_< )

i could so see you turning hard somewhere wwhere you need to hand over hand turn quickly and grabbing the cam cause it looks freakin close to the wheel. otherwise pretty neat im curious to see how it films.

The only time I have need to do hand-over-hand is in slow, close quarters maneuvering like parking lots; in most situations, when I turn, my hands never leave their grip on the steering wheel.

That looks like a camera unit only... what are you using to record?

It's an action-cam (intended for like helmets and handlebars), so it's completely self-contained and records onto an SD card. Theoretically, I could even mount it in the front grill (though I'd have no way to remotely control it). I got it at Big 5 for about $97 on sale.

Cool. What's the recording time per GB and video resolution? If it's decent on both counts, I may get one to mount on the roll cage in the LeMons car.

I forget the max res at the moment; I think it's 640x480. Either way, a 2gb SD card yields a bit over an hour at max res. Alan (In-Q-Z-tor) got one of these too.
