Just installed photon cannons!

Been awhile since I posted on here (since it's been awhile since I've done anything with my Z).. I recently installed some "photon cannons" on my Impreza RS and liked the look so much that I wanted them on my other cars too! So having snagged an extra set of Hella 500's for a killer price, I used $4 of L-bracing from the hardware store to make mountings for them, and there we have it.

Nice man, and one of a kind. You have a different Z.

I'm assuming you cut out of your bumper for this...mine are currently just bolted on top, doesn't look so good. What are the dimensions on those lights? Any more pics/how-to info?

No, I didn't modify the bumper at all. I just bought a couple of L-braces from the hardware store, drilled new holes, and bolted them to the underside of the bumper beam using the existing bolts. It looks like a pair of triangular protrusions when the lights aren't installed. The lights are Hella 500FF's, which're about 6.5" or so in diameter.

Ah, good eye you have there. The left signal hole is filled in with a mesh screen and a flat amber LED bar; it's been turned into a scoop for a side-mount intercooler.

A scoop for the intercooler? Isn't that REALLLLLLLY tiny? Your outside air vent is 10x as big as that....

The intercooler is from a Silvia, and apparently, its ducting intake is about the same size; I had utilized the original plastic ducting (sort of like a horn shape where it starts off narrow and expands to the face of the cooling surface) that came with the intercooler and it lined up quite well with the bumper hole.
