There ya go. There's ALWAYS a bunch of people that have never done anything more than willing to tell others they can't. Having made a few intakes, some that worked, and probably going to do another before to long, it can be fun. I'll never forget the look on a guys face as his new firebird got smoked, by an F250 4x4. I cleaned up on more than a few german sports cars with an International dump truck, full of junk....(turbocharged 500 caddy, 4 27" rear tires, 5-1 diff.)
Never listen to those that think they know all...

bumpage FTW, I figure I'll make this my build thread I guess... lol

but I just got four brand new Falken 912 tires for my Z, and what a wondrous difference they made! lol I got 195/65-14 just because I wanted something a little shorter than stock, but taller than the 185/60-14's I had on the fronts before lol

Even with all stock bushings (sans a pair of polyurethane front swaybar endlinks) I have yet to find the limit of these tires!

It's nice to be talking to myself.

Anyways, I don't think I've got a picture of my engine posted up on these boards at all, so I figured I'd put this brand new shiny pic up, and see if anyone can guess what my latest mod is from this pic

Very purdy!

As for the mod... since we've never seen your engine bay, it's hard to guess what "mod" you just did, but I'll take some "stabs" and say:
-Valve cover?
-Intake mani?
-Header?
-Silicone AFM to TB coupler?
-Blaster II coil?
-Shine-a-fy the throttle linkage?
-EGR block off plate?
or maybe a new radiator hose?

boots

Where do you get the throttle-AFM and AFM-air cleaner boots like you have, with no ports?

Nismo, nope, I tucked the injector harness under the fuel rail

I got the silicone boots from my nearby Checker, I had to use them because I'm also running a Cressida AFM (but with the stock TB )

Thanks. Nice to see a sky blue Z with so much blue sky! I have the same Falkens. You're right, they pretty much just stick no matter what. Plus I like the extra low-speed grunt due to the smaller tire.

It needs to have a buffer taken to it is all, I've washed and waxed this car way too many times, along with using all sorts of crap that I'm can't even remember what I used lol (And believe me, the way the paint looks now is 20000X better than the way it was when I bought it I'll have to post up a pic of when I first brought her home). And I don't think you can see it in my pics, but I did fix the dent, I put a bandage sticker on it XD (just so ya know, everytime someone tells me to fix the dent, I push it a month FARTHER back in my plans, so right now, I don't think I'll be fixing it till around 2013 lmfao)

and yes, I did swap the circuit board from my stock AFM to the Cressida AFM

Which all it did is push the bottleneck back 6 inches to your stock TB.

Well DUH! lol The biggest reason I did that is because I was bored at the junkyard and there was a Cressy sitting there... XD

I would rather mount that Fairlady logo on a plaque and hang it on my wall than put it on a non-fairlady 280zx but that's just me (I have issues with this). It's easier to explain what "Fairlady" means when it's actually on a RHD car. Otherwise people might think something else....

Good pic tho!

Dude, you might want to start measuring, my car would tuck those gay *** Sportmax wheels almost worse than my stockers...

I might be tucking, but that's only because I'm on stock wheels and I don't want to run spacers.

Just wait till you see what I have in the plans as far as wheels go

(but it won't be anytime soon, as I've got 4 basically brand frickin new Falken 912's on there that I'm still broke from lol)

I dont think a 16x8 +0 would tuck like your stockies.

I think a set of xxr 002's would look sick on there. Cheap.

Yea, I'm keeping it NA, but I'm building another motor for it, high comp and cammed up

And not only will the wheels I plan on getting fit better (especially with the ZG flares I'mma get), be 10" wide, but they will also be cheaper than XXR's
